Chanting Evenings at TYC

Posted 13 years, 5 months ago    3 comments

Tauranga Yoga Centre is exploring the idea of setting up a regular monthly Chanting (Kirtan) class on a Friday or Saturday night.

This form of devotional chanting can be very uplifting and a good way to have some fun and meet other members of the centre.

If you have interest in this type of class please e mail  us at  info@taurangayoga.org.nz.

Ideally we need some people that have experience playing the harmonium or a guitar so if you have this experience and have interest please let us know.

Thanks  TYC Committee.

Hari Om. There is the possibility of learning the harmonium with Maggie (Shantagyanam) as I have a spare one at my house. This would need to be on a one on one basis to start as when one is learning a musical instrument, they may be shy at sharing in a group. Give it some thought and if you would like to join me please give me a call as I could offer an hour or so tuition for koha at my house in Hairini at the weekends unless I am away (Ph 5449939). I have been away at a yoga retreat at Anahata Retreat Centre in Golden Bay with the Satyananda yogis and I am inspired to share kirtan with those interested as I have found it to be a very beautiful spiritual practice which is uplifting and opens the heart chakra.
